Green'Un Gold
THE popularity of Green'Un Gold continues and a big thank you to Paddy Lillistone, who has e-mailed me this picture.
HERE is a fantastic picture from 90-year-old Mr Reg Dale of the Yoxford School team from 1931-32.
They were winners of the Halesworth Hospital Cup.
Reg said: “The headmaster was Mr Jennings and I got the cane off him a few times I can tell you.
The interest I have received following the publication of the Ipswich Town gathering has been superb and thanks for that.
Former Town man Len Fletcher contacted me with almost all the names of the players in the photo.
WELCOME again to another Green'Un Gold and we kick-off with a request from across the Atlantic.
WE are looking for a bit of help in identifying a couple of pictures, one an Ipswich Town reunion and one of Town players in the tub, some with a tab on!
WELL, hello again and welcome to another Green'Un Gold and this week something a little bit different from the norm.
And thanks to Dennis Ellis from Ipswich for some wonderful old photographs.
WELCOME back to another Green'Un Gold and to a very old photograph sent in by Alasdair Ross.
Alasdair has dug up this wonderful old picture of Labour Athletic FC which is more than 85 years old.
THE good news this week from the grassroots game was the re-launch of the Inter-Firm Cup in the Ipswich area.
The Inter-Firm cup was always a popular event in the town and I remember playing in the final back in the 1980s for the East Anglian Daily Times against BT Research.
HELLO again and welcome to another Green'Un Gold.
Well, this week I had a visit from Derek Davey and his wife Irene.
They both kindly brought in this picture to the Green'Un offices of the victorious Whitton United 1959 Suffolk Senior Cup team.
WELCOME back to another Green'Un gold feature and to a picture we found here on our archives at the Green'Un.
